East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) Explores Sustainable Water Solutions in Research Seminar) at East West University (EWU) hosted a research seminar on 10 August 2025, titled “Assessing the Reuse Potential of Water Collected from the Air Conditioning Units of East West University: A Pilot Study on Air Condensate Harvesting” at the EWUCRT seminar room of EWU.  

The research proposal, which focuses on the potential for harvesting and reusing water from air conditioning units, was presented by a team of distinguished researchers. Dr. Sadik Rahman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at EWU, led the presentation on behalf of his collaborators: Dr. Mohammad Manzurul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, EWU, Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, Professor, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, EWU, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun, Associate Professor, Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman.

Following the presentation, Dr. Md. Golam Rabiul Alam, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, provided valuable commentary and served as the key discussant. The university’s leadership also offered their insights, with Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of EWU, and Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU, both providing feedback on the topic. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, Chairperson of the East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT). The event was well-attended by faculty members, students, and officials from EWUCRT.
